Every Wednesday, Bethalto University has art class with Mr. Callies at the high school. The students LOVE it!
Sadly, today was our last day of art for the year. Mr. Callies planned an ice cream party for the students and they had to create a work of art out of their sundaes before they could eat them!
This week, we used tissue paper to make awesome kites! We brought them back to the classroom and hung them up in the window!
Mr. Callies wanted to do something in honor of Spring Break and Easter coming up so the students made Origami Bunnies!
This week, Mr. Callies showed us how to use a baby wipe and markers to make tye-dye! Then, they took it and turned it into an eyeball! They loved it!
Mr. Callies taught about Cubism this week and the kids made their own paintings with tape and watercolor.

Getting in the St. Patrick's Day spirit by making Leprechauns! So much fun!
This week, we made "Stained Glass Art" out of tissue paper and glue. They turned out super cool!
The students tried their hand at pottery today with Mr. Callies and they loved it! He taught them how to roll out the clay and cut out a shape and then how to paint it so that it's ready to be baked in the kiln!
Mr. Callies taught us about Jackson Pollock today and how to splatter paint with strings. Little did they know, their picture was under the paper and they were creating a 'hair-do' for themselves!
We built and painted airplanes in art this week! They loved mixing the colors and making it their own!
